News (September '05):

Flushed with Lush

Paisley hosts Team Mosa

Last week began with a special visit to the Paisley Express offices in New Street, where Mairead met up with reporter Derek Parker, who went onto to write up a lovely article in the Express. Also, on the way out of the office, peace-loving Mairead tried to infiltrate the Army Recruitment offices across the road with a couple of peace songs and ended a recruiting a few new fans (see photos below).

Mairead with the new Mosas - is that Feather Boa regulation uniform chaps?

Derek Parker from the Paisley Express. The question is: who is that hiding behind him...?

Thursday night, Lush was the venue. For those who braved the torrential rain to be there, our sincere thanks as it was one of the wettest nights of the year so far (more to come no doubt *sigh*). There was, however, a few positives - a cracking set which had the place bouncing by the end of the night and we made some new friends. Shouts out to Drew (thanks for the hospitality and vibes), Claire (thanks for the food and drink! We love you Claire!) and Cheryl (thanks for the magnificent PR job p.s. she did get soaked in the rain doing her flyerin' thang).

See you all next time - Funky Mosa Brollies to be provided...

Merchant City Mosas

City Centre action over the September weekend

This weekend saw the Team Mosa back in the centre of things with two back to back gigs in the Merchant City, beginning with a return to the intimate confides of Rab Ha's for the Merchant City Festival (thanks to Paul & Alan for their spot before us) followed by what can only be described as a triumphant turn at Favela.

Beginning with the Mosa DJs on the decks with some classic Jazz Funk (and some vague attempt at smashy-n-nicey style MC-ing...hmmm, quite) followed by DJ Kenny Breaks stoking the fires with some blistering Funk and Hip-hop (thanks again bro). Just after midnight, with the place packed out, the MFC hit the stage. Check the pictures below for the results:

Mosa Funk Club - For Bad Girls! (see below)

Lorraine, Connie and Michele. 24 hrs later, these bad girls were still partying!

Hands up whose a bad girl...?

Bad boy (inflatable) for bad girls (insatiable)

After all that hard dancing, who else but CJ of The Unit (for our money, probably one of the best DJ crews out there at the moment) to keep the vibe up with some red hot electro-funk and Acid.

Special Thanks to Emma and all at Favela - see you again in November!

In the not-so-Wild West, Gunz don't thrill people, Mosas do!

MFC bring a fresh(er) sound to the GUU and keep things hot at the Halt Bar

This week saw us strike out West(end)-wards for a bit of G12 action, beginning on Tuesday, supporting Newport's favourite sons Goldie Lookin' Chain in the Debating Chamber of Glasgow University Union (Thanks to DJ B*LICIOUS - p.s. we love you Sam!). As you can see from the pics below, the Fresher crowd were well in the mood for a bit of explosive Mosa action and we made a whole bunch of new friends, which we hope you will meet soon. Special shout out to Eastborn and his Crew who were first up to warm up the crowd with a fine slice of Scottish Hip Hop.

For all those who were there, if you can identify yourself, let us know and we shall send you a special Mosa goodie bag (which may or may not include a tipple of your fancy hehe).

Ladies and gentlemen - DCs very own Sax-disciples

New additions to the Mosa Ranks: meet Valerie and Nadia + two of the three disciples (see above)

Mairead + GLC (Who's the local Celebrity?)

Michael (Sound Acoustics) the sound man - he only agreed to pose for this photo if we promised we wouldn't use it...

On Friday, we made an appearance at the cozy Halt Bar on Woodlands Road; "Cozy" ...haha... "packed to the gunnels - sweat dripping from the ceiling and windows", even. Ian Appleby (the Shoogaman) was in fine form again with a brand new set at the beginning of the night. Our mate Bratchy, being one of the funniest cats in Glasgow (see old news) compered the night. This Shaggy-a-like even had a suprise pal arrive in the form of Ryan the Dog (nee Scooby Doo?) - we think its meant to be hmm? (Its amazin' what a Boneo can do for you!)

Unfortunately, due to a technical hitch (well, actually DC locked his keys in the van along with the camera...ahem) we were unable to take any pictures to show you. We were just a handful of bodies away from a lockout so we would like some evidence. If anyone took any photos on the night, please email them to us and we will post them up on the gallery.

Thanks again to Sean and David on the bar that night (we saw you dancin' don't deny!)
